Sports event planners have discovered El Paso is sun-soaked, warm and always ready for kickoffs, tip-offs and starting guns. Our venues excel at basketball; track and field; baseball and soccer as well as some of the best golf in the Southwest. Additionally, our 2012 quality-of-life bond has given us half a billion dollars to create new venues and improve existing fields, parks, courts, lanes, pools and diamonds.
1. An Epic Pool
Our ultramodern natatorium with an Olympic-size pool and 700+ seats is now open! As the first competition-ready natatorium facility in El Paso, the 50-meter-by 25-yard pool has eight long lanes and 24 short lanes with three different depths for competitive swimming, water polo and other programmed swimming events. Now you can be one of the first to compete with the roar of 780 spectators cheering your team!
2. Brand-New Venues
We have countless fields, courts, tracks and diamonds, and we’re adding more! A state-of-the-art park is on the way with an indoor 50-meter pool, six football/soccer fields, four baseball/softball diamonds, 12 handball courts and four volleyball courts! The competition-ready park will be completed by 2020.
3. The Royal Treatment
El Paso gives you the red-carpet treatment. Mariachi greeting at the airport? Done. A tour of artisan bootmaker shops? You got it. Help booking hotel rooms? Say no more. Plus, thanks to a half-billion-dollar investment, Downtown El Paso is in the middle of a revival! Brand-new hotels are doubling our Downtown hotel rooms in the coming months, and once construction’s complete, we’ll have 1,200+ rooms within walking distance of Southwest University Park-our award-winning Triple-A-Ballpark and USL soccer field.
Choosing the right city for your event can be a difficult task. With budget constraints, travel logistics and sheer number of choices available, it can be easy to default to a larger, more-familiar city to host your event. However, to avoid ‘destination burn-out’, consider choosing El Paso! We’re a treasure trove of unique experiences that are out of the ordinary, and we’re often more accommodating and affordable than our larger counterparts. Your group and your budget will thank you.
