RUBIN CENTER EXHIBITION: AMBOS September 10 - December 12, 2026
This exhibition brings together ten years of AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a binational collective founded in 2016 that brings together artists, makers, and communities through collaborative projects rooted in the lived realities and everyday crossings of the U.S.–Mexico border.
Drawing from archival materials, photographs, textiles, ceramics, and newly created works, the exhibition revisits a decade of collaborative projects through materials gathered across AMBOS’ history, reflecting the collective’s evolving practice. Rooted in craft, care, and documentation, these works respond to the shifting social and political realities of the border while affirming lived experience as a vital form of knowledge. The exhibition also marks the beginning of a second Border Quipu, continuing AMBOS’ commitment to collective storytelling, memory, and connection across the border.
