When the dog mom is away, the pets will play. In this computer animated comedy from Illumination, a big, scruffy shelter mutt named Duke (Eric Stonestreet) is brought home as a new fur sibling for Max (Louis C.K.), a pampered New York terrier. Max becomes jealous and unsettled. They have a disagreement and end up on the streets, where the dogs get lost in the big city and are rescued by a posse of abandoned pets. As they try to get back to their apartment, Duke and Max are pulled into a borough-spanning adventure where they outrun danger and build unexpected bonds.
