Enjoy a relaxing and restorative evening with sonic expression inspired through Shingetsu Billy White, internationally acclaimed singer and musician for over 30 years, long time practitioner of Zen and Tibetan Buddhism, yoga, non-duality and various shamanic traditions.
Using the voice to produce overtone harmonics, sometimes known as “overtone singing” or “throat singing,” as well as instruments such as Tibetan and crystal bowls, tanpura, harmonium, flutes, didgeridoo, tuning forks, percussion and many others, the listener is invited into deep relaxation and release, dissolving the thinking mind and resting in expanded awareness.
Sound is a powerful vehicle for balance, rejuvenation and well-being. In a time of so much noise disguised as “information,” the need for recognizing the simplicity of one’s original perfect being, radiant and peaceful, has never been greater.
The HEART is AWAKE presents a new TEMPLE OF SOUND, bridging the worlds of experimental and psychedelic music with sacred sounds and vibrational journeys featuring special guest singers and a few surprises. You’re invited to experience a sound blessing from Shingetsu Billy White at the Sunset Parlor Nov 23 at 6pm.
Tibetan singing bowls, Didgeridoo, Tanpura, Harmonium, Overtone and Throat singing, Atmospheric lap steel and 12 string guitars, Native flutes, Frame drums, gongs, and percussion from around the world are some of the instruments featured in this deep and expansive journey into meditative, adventurous sonic landscapes.
Intimate and sometimes interactive, The Heart is Awake invites the audience on a hypnotic, restorative “sound blessing.” From fans of ambient, experimental, and eclectic music as well as meditators and yogis, there is something for all listeners to encounter.
Make sure to bring mats and cushions if you want to stretch out on the wooden floor. There will also be a limited arrangement of chairs and Aerial Hammock for the journey. Please join us for this unique concert experience at the PARLOR!
The HEART is AWAKE (Shingetsu Billy White) creates a one-person orchestra using loops and echoes, painting with sound. He is an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, meditation teacher, and sound healer who has lived and performed worldwide, he now happily resides in New Mexico.
