El Paso, TX — [Event Date — insert]{:target=”blank”} — American Legion Post 58 proudly announces the 3rd Annual Supporting Veterans BBQ Cook-Off, returning as El Paso’s largest single-day BBQ event. The family-friendly festival will feature over 60 vendors, food trucks, live music, kid’s entertainment, a full bar, and more than 25 competing BBQ teams — ranging from first-time smokers to seasoned champions. Sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA) and designated a State Championship, the event will award $5,000 in prize money to top teams. Spectators can take part in the fun with a taster-choice chicken wing category and vote for their favorite wing for a small fee. “We’re excited to bring the community together for great food, friendly competition, and support for our veterans,” said Armida Thomas, event coordinator. “This cook-off showcases local talent and raises vital funds for two important causes.” Event highlights: • IBCA-sanctioned State Championship cook-off • Over 60 vendors and multiple food trucks • Kid-friendly entertainment, live music, and a full bar • Taster-choice chicken wing voting for spectators (small fee) • $200 team entry fee; more than $5,000 in total prizes • Proceeds benefit the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation and American Legion Post 58 programs supporting veterans How to enter or get involved: BBQ teams, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers are encouraged to participate.
