Sun Bowl Parade History
Sponsored by Glasheen, Valles, & Inderman Injury Lawyers, the Sun Bowl Parade has grown to the largest community event in the Southwest. The first parade was organized in 1935 and held on New Year’s Day in 1936. By 1978 the Parade had moved to Thanksgiving Day. Fully planned and coordinated by volunteers, the Sun Bowl Parade presents a thrilling line up of over 100 different floats, equestrian units, marching bands, military ceremonial units, Mexican and Indian dance ensembles, drum and bugle corps, and local celebrities.
