Visit the completion of the Galápagos Tortoise Exhibit. Celebrate the oldest zoo animal resident Mr. Potatohead 75th birthday. There will be treats to visitors, giveaways, coloring activities, and a special “fruit cake” for Mr. Potatohead.
The exhibit is designed for year-round comfort, the habitat includes a spacious outdoor yard for basking and exploring, an outdoor pool, a climate-controlled enclosure with three separate spaces for future tortoises.
Mr. Potatohead is a Volcan Alcedo giant tortoise that came to the El Paso Zoo in 1991 and has fathered seven offspring during his lifetime. He weighs more than 600 pounds.
