Join a Park Ranger for a strenuous hike in what we consider the toughest trail in Franklin Mountains State Park! Your hard work pays off with spectacular views, “fun” challenges, climbing 4 sections of chains over steep 10 -20ft rock walls, and of course the right to say you conquered the Ron Coleman Trail.
Bring: Water, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes/boots; optional: hiking poles, camera, binoculars, etc.
Hikers with less than 1.5 litters of water or inadequate gear will not be allowed to attempt this hike
Length: 4 miles / 4 - 6 hours
*Difficulty Level: Strenuous and technical. This is by any measure NOT an EASY hike. From the trailhead we will venture into the canyon on a well maintained section of trail; once we reach the incline, the trail becomes increasingly steep, with trail becoming more rugged in sections.
