This tour is more than a walk through time—it is a living legacy.
The El Paso Black History Tour highlights African American historical sites spanning the period from 1850 to 2022. This guide celebrates the contributions of Black El Pasoans to El Paso del Norte, symbolizing a golden age in African American culture that was reflected in community service, business, education, religion, literature, music, and politics. Through the tour’s narratives and visuals, readers will embark on a historical journey uncovering the vibrant Black legacies that continue to shape El Paso’s identity. The tour begins and concludes at the McCall Neighborhood Center; however, each site can be visited independently. There are 38 historical sites we will visit them in a special driving tour in partnership with El Paso County, Visit El Paso and Eastside Central Coalition.
