Explore some of the most biodiverse places on Earth in this exhibit that brings art and science together to help protect three threatened regions. From the Madrean Pine-Oak Woodlands of the US Southwest and Mexico to the Eastern Afromontane and Southwest Australia, protecting biodiversity hotspots has the potential to safeguard much of our world’s life.
In “Biodiversity Hotspots Reimagined,” the UTEP Biodiversity Collections collaborated with graphic design students to celebrate these regions. Natural history specimens, visual storytelling, and stories of ongoing conservation efforts combine to show what makes these hotspots unique. Join us in reimagining these places as sources of hope, creativity, and shared responsibility.
There will be live music and refreshments provided. Bring a friend or make it a family outing!
