The B Warm Blanket Drive was created in 2007 at Coronado High School to honor the life of Braden Aboud. The first drive collected over 1,000 blankets which were distributed throughout El Paso and Juarez communities.
Since 2007, more than 60,000 blankets have been collected and donated to local shelters, social outreach programs and neighboring communities in need of warmth. We continue to meet the ever-growing need by partnering with schools, local organizations and businesses. Our greatest contributors are area schools who have taken the lead by collecting blankets in friendly competitive drives while making their community service project.
As the need for new blankets increases, so does our determination to ensure that individuals and households receive items that will help keep them warm during the colder months. This winter season, consider donating a new, twin-sized blanket to either the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation office or at any of our partnering drop off sites.
