Lizbeth invites you to experiment with hand embroidery, fiber and acrylic painting to create original mix media, one of a kind art pieces. Session 1 : Foundations of hand embroidery and textiles. Start a hand embroidery stitch sampler. Session 2 : Finish stitch sampler. Sketch ideas, start developing the process and select materials to make a mixed media/fiber art piece. Session 3 : Work on mix media/fiber art piece. Session 4 : Work on mix media/fiber art piece. Lizbeth Sánchez Pineda (Lizbeth Sánchez Pineda🪡Bordadora/Fiber Artist) Multidisciplinary artist and educator. In 2018, she became a self-taught embroiderer and fiber artist, documenting and sharing her creative endeavors. Since 2021, she’s set up at local art shows and markets — designing, creating and selling D-I-Y kits and embroidery patterns, as well as exhibiting work at local galleries. She was one of 25 selected winners of the Joann Craft Stores Minority Program Grant in 2021. Lizbeth has taught children, teens, adults, seniors and people with different abilities how to find joy in hand embroidery and fiber art. She’s led classes and workshops at different local businesses, as well as at the El Paso Museum of Art, the Mexican American Cultural Center, the Las Cruces Museum of Art, the EPCC Papagayo Project and the Socorro Independent School District. Her main inspirations are her Mexican roots, the Borderlands desert landscape and its vibrant border culture. She firmly believes that art, culture and creativity are crucial in our everyday lives and to create a positive impact in our communities.
