Let’s start the New Year off on the right hiking foot! Join us to work up a sweat and burn some calories while taking in the splendors of the Franklin Mountains State Park. We will be hiking along a scenic trail up to Mundy’s Gap - a moderate/difficult hike.
Length: 4 miles roundtrip
Trail Difficulty: Moderately Difficult.
Begin with a gradual incline over scree, or rubble, proving to be challenging for some; then transition to a steady climb over loose rubble/rocks. Once you make it to the gap you are rewarded with sweeping views of the East side.
Bring: Water, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes/boots; optional: hiking stick, camera, binoculars, a map.
Meeting location: West Cottonwood Springs trailhead.
