Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain site landscaping, including lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation systems.
• Fertilize lawns, trees, flowers, and shrubs; spread mulch as needed.
• Trim and prune trees, hedges, and shrubs; prevent and eliminate weeds.
• Operate and maintain hand tools (loppers, saws, shovels, etc.) and power equipment safely and efficiently.
• Operate and maintain trucks, trailers, and other assigned vehicles.
• Apply insecticides, fertilizers, and chemical treatments to address plant diseases and pests.
• Keep grounds free from trash, litter, and debris; empty trash receptacles regularly.
• Conduct basic irrigation audits, perform minor irrigation repairs, and adjust/calibrate watering times and - schedules for efficiency.
• Maintain inventory of grounds equipment and supplies; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Work flexible and irregular hours as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to operate several types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
• Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
• Demonstrate proficiency with drip lines and underground piping including irrigation and sprinkler systems.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
• Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
• Follow all polices/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
• Meet the physical demand of the job, must perform strenuous physical duties at times; including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
• Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
• Must have reliable personal transportation and the ability to travel between assigned park locations as needed.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Minimum Education & Experience

• Valid driver’s license. 2 years’ experience in ground maintenance preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and guests.

Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Exposure to adverse weather conditions and various cleaning chemicals. Position requires extensive walking, bending, stooping, and occasional climbing.
