Join us for a fun, hands-on clinic on Saturday July 9th, 2022 from 9AM to noon at the Podium Finish bike shop! Whether it is hiking, biking, climbing or enjoying our beautiful mountains in any other way, we often times find ourselves in an emergency situation involving us or others around us where learning about basic emergency skills would be not only beneficial, but life-saving. This course will effectively cover such situations ranging from accidents of varying degrees, heat strokes, dehydration and exhaustion, wildlife encounters specific to our region, etc. This clinic will be divided in two separate courses: an outdoor safety class, and a first aid training class. ⛑ The outdoor safety class will be taught by one of our Franklin Mountains State Park rangers. The class includes basics for how to recognize and handle wildlife dangers specific to the Franklin Mountains and our region, specially now that rain season is upon us. This class will also include how we can take care of our mountains so that we can enjoy them appropriately. ⛑ The first aid training will be taught by ProAction, a non-profit American Heart Association (AHA) training center. This training covers basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. The class includes: First aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies and preventing illness and injury. ⛑ To reserve your spot for this clinic, please go to our site (lastsundaysride.com/link-in-bio), there is a $40 fee for registration, that will be used for the fee for the first aid training. ⛑ Breakfast snacks and drinks will be provided during the clinic thanks to Podium Finish Sport Boutique & Cafe!
