Jonathan W. Rogers Water Treatment Plant treats Rio Grande water for distribution to El Paso Water customers and operates during the irrigation season when Rio Grande Project water is available. This state of the art water plant can treat 60 million gallons of water per day. As part of the tour, visitors will get an overview of the water filtering process including water flowing into the mixes, the basins and a view of the filter. Since Rio Grande water is currently available, visitors can also see the screw pumps in action as they deliver river water to the plant. Be prepared to meet with technicians on shift and have your questions ready! Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and bring a hat as part of the tour goes outdoors.
