KIKIMORA
What began as a chance-encounter in Austin, TX between bandmates, Hayley Lynch and Leo Bennato in Austin (circa-2015), has since transformed into the genre-bending 6-piece outfit known as Kikimora.
Hailing by way of Buenos Aires, Cd. Juarez, and El Paso, TX, Kikimora has been compared to the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper, and Charlotte Day Wilson. With the sultry vocals and shrewd lyrics of singer-songwriter/guitarist, Hayley, the improvisational instincts of keyboardist, Leo, the tasteful grooves of lead guitarist, Ed Ramos, and the powerful rhythm section comprised of Jericho Cagle (bass), Albert Braun (drums), and Eric Boseman (percussion), makes their upcoming releases live up to their namesake, a playful or mischievous spirit.
Just before the pandemic, Kikimora embarked on an East Coast Summer Tour where they performed at venues such as Nashville’s Back Corner, Philadelphia’s Kung Fu Necktie, Brooklyn’s Bowery, and Chicago’s Emporium, to name a few. Their artistry won over fans in every city along the way and as they prepare for the debut of their upcoming album with singles, “Chase the Wind” & “Holding On to Nothing”, they are sure to continue showcasing why this chance encounter in 2015 is something to watch out for.
