The Plaza Classic Film Festival presents: Laurel and Hardy’s Going Bye-Bye (1934), Them Thar Hills (1934) and Tit for Tat (1935).

Our second free Plaza Days program is a Laurel and Hardy triple-header, including the world premieres of two restorations — with plenty of pratfalls and slapstick. In Going Bye-Bye! (1934, 21 minutes), Stan and Ollie finger a criminal only to cross paths with him again. The new restorations by Sabu Cat are Them Thar Hills (1934, 20 minutes) and Tit for Tat (1934, 20 minutes). In Them Thar Hills, Stan and Ollie head to the mountains and get drunk on well water spiked by moonshiners. A woman (Mae Busch) gets drunk with them, enraging her husband (Charlie Hall), who pays a sticky price for his anger. Tit for Tat is the sequel, moving from the mountains to the world of retail business, where they mix it up with rival business owners (Busch and Hall). It earned an Oscar nomination. — Doug Pullen
