A panel consisting of filmmaker/educator Ilana Lapid, film producer Javier Gonzalez and El Paso Community Foundation/Plaza Classic Film Festival veteran Asia Saucedo watched dozens of submissions, choosing the short films that impressed them the most for this year’s Local Flavor Showcase. After all of the curated entries are screened, we’ll announce this year’s prize recipients. This year’s prize money is $1,500 first prize, $1,000 second prize, $750 third prize, with a $250 audience favorite winner, which will be determined by a live text-to-vote during the program.
