Latinitas, a local non-profit organization is hosting Latinitas Summer Camp. The camp will run for three weeks beginning on July 9 at the El Paso Leadership Academy. Each week, the camp will follow a different theme, including Arts and Media Week, STEAM Week, and for the first time, Culture Week. The camp will invite girls to engage in various activities including coding, engineering, and animation and film production to empower young girls in media, science, and community involvement. They will also hear from speakers from diverse professions.

Girls from 5th to 7th grade will be able to attend field trips each week to Hueco Tanks, FabLab and the city court to explore career fields and encourage girls to get innovative. The camp will be open for thirty participants. Twenty of those will be students from the El Paso Leadership Academy and the remaining tickets will be open to girls from any district in El Paso. Tickets will be $100 per week for each participant and will be sold at eventbrite.com.
