On the first Saturday in April participants from Fort Bliss and El Paso communities come together to show their support to the Families in the local area who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The Fort Bliss Run for the Fallen has become an annual event (in its fourth year) to remember our Fallen service members. Families, Soldiers and civilians will be invited to take part in a brief ceremony that includes the reading of the names of the Fallen within our community. The remembrance ceremony begins at 8:30a.m. followed by the run beginning at 9a.m. Run, walk, or roll through the one mile or 5K course. (Lining the course are mile markers handmade by Survivors, each one representing the service member’s life. Registration is $15 and is opened through April 4th at Soto, Stout or Milam Physical fitness Centers and online at raceroster.com Mile markers are available through Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) at building 241 Sheridan Rd. and must be returned by April 4th. Survivors must register through the SOS Program.
