Let’s head underground to explore some of the hidden secrets of the Franklin Mountains! Don’t forget your flashlights! We will be providing helmets but if you have your own please feel free to bring it.
Meet us by the W. Cottonwood Springs trail head in the Tom Mays unit.
Reservations required; to reserve your spot, call the office at (915) 444-9100.
We will have four tours going out: 8 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Meet us at the W. Cottonwood Springs trail head in the Tom Mays unit.
Bring: water, flashlight, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.
Optional: climbing/biking helmet or hardhat, binoculars, hiking stick, camera, and a map.
Directions: From Westside on I-10, take exit 6 & travel east towards the mountains for 3.8 miles. Park entrance will be on the left. From Eastside on Hwy 54, take exit 29 towards Transmountain Rd, travel west 7-7.5 miles over/through the mountains. Park entrance will be on the right. If using a GPS be sure to search for “Tom Mays Access Road,” not “Franklin Mountains State Park.”
