Cross over the foothills of Mt. Cristo Rey to the dinosaur tracks that your guide, Dr. Eric Kappus, discovered and researches. These are the only dinosaur fossils in the Paso del Norte region! This is a moderate hike of about 2-miles round-trip with an elevation gain of about 200 feet. There is one difficult hill, but you will be on a trail the entire way. Along the way you will see the best fossils in the Paso del Norte region on “Fossil Hill” and learn about the history of the area, including the Camino Real, El Paso brick company, and the railroad which still crosses the area today. This hike will begin at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing Farmer’s Market at 9 AM. (MAP) Remember to bring plenty of water, a snack, hat, and sturdy shoes.
