Women's Hike: Sierra Vista Trail

- Venue:
- Directions: From East El Paso on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, continue north onto NM-213 N. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto NM_404 Ohara Rd. Continue 3.9 miles. Parking will be on the left (south) side of the road. From the West on Interstate Highway 10, take Exit #162 for NM-404 toward Anthony/ Chaparral. Turn East on NM-404 Ohara Rd. Continue 4.2 miles. Parking will be on the right (south) side of the road.

- $5 for adults 13 years old and up; $0 for Texas State Park Pass holders and children 12 and under. Please bring a check or exact change, as the Ranger or volunteer guiding the hike will be unable to make change.

This month we will hike the Sierra Vista to Northern Pass loop. We will begin on a section of the Sierra Vista trail, a trail running between Las Cruces and the Franklin Mountains, and connect to the Northern Pass trail in Franklin Mountains State Park to make a loop of about 5 miles. This trail explores the Northern tip of the Franklin Mountains Range as it approaches Anthony’s Gap, meandering through arroyos and over hills. There will be some elevation gain, but the overall difficulty is moderate.

Bring: water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.
