Guide to University District
UTEP has experienced rapid growth over the last decade, and with it the University District too has burgeoned. Whether you’re an incoming freshman or graduated decades ago, there is fun to be had in this vibrant slice of central El Paso.
Tippi Teas’ tea selection is rivaled by none, and their coffee isn’t shabby either. Beyond great beverages, Tippi Teas has a laid back, organic atmosphere that makes it perfect for studying or even daytime dates. The only drawback is all the time you’ll spend choosing what you want.

The successor to a popular local food truck, Kaedama, a Japanese ramen spot, opened up in 2018 to much fanfare. Seriously, there’s a line every day at lunchtime. Its reputation is much deserved: Kaedama noodles are arguably the best in town and the staff is highly professional. Oh, and loud slurping is totally okay!
