5 Top Breweries to Try in El Paso
Although COVID-19 restrictions have limited bars and restaurants in various ways, many taprooms are still up and running, delivering their exciting, diverse selection of brews. Here are the standout breweries to check out for a pint…or two.

Established in 2013, DeadBeach Brewery is home to big, bold beers that don’t hold back on flavor. With names like Vaquero Lager and Abuelita Stout this El Paso born and raised brewery pulls together a unique and diverse blend of brews suitable for all pallets.
The tavern is currently open four days a week: Wed.-Say. 11 am-7 pm for curbside pickup
Their tap menu varies from week to week, we encourage you to visit them online for a list of what’s available. Beer to go and delivery via Door Dash and Uber Eats also available.

El Paso Brewing Company is another that, fitting to its name, represents and fosters this city’s culture as a key part of the brewery’s mission as they strive for quality brews. Their mission statement includes this line: “…we also strive to craft a unique space where visitors will share their vibrant borderland experiences in the best of friendships,” fitting for the space itself and its place in this city.
The brewery is open: Mon.-Fri. from 11AM-12AM; Sat. from 12PM-1AM and Sun. from 12PM-8PM. Kitchen opens everyday until two hours before closing.

Blazing Tree Brewery, nestled on the east side of El Paso since 2017, is another spot with unique flavors that go through strict quality assurance tests to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. It gets rave reviews, to the point of having a title for their fanbase BTB Flame Heads. Be sure to try their Peanut Butter Brown Ale.
Blazing Tree is open: Mon. & Tue. 4-11PM; Wed. & Thurs. 12-11PM; Sat. & Sun. 12-11 PM; Closed Fridays

Only the freshest, seasonal and organic produce and spices go into every brew at Sun Brewing Co. Here visitors experience indigenous and spontaneous beers paired with borderland avant-garde style cuisine. For a taste of the region try the Meadors de Alien Ale, a crystal malt with Nugget and Ahtanum hops, California Ale yeast, apricots and New Mexico chili peppers.
Sun Brewing Co. is open Fri.-Sun. for pick up only.

Old Sheepdog Brewery is a newer name in town, located in a beautiful historic El Paso building from the 1930s and features another variety of brews and unique food events. A notable part of their goal is to be a part in revitalizing these historic parts of El Paso—especially relevant as they are located right next to the past home of El Paso’s first brewery.
Currently offering beer to go and curbside pickup. Hours of operation vary so we suggest contacting them prior to visiting.
