Those parents inspired to pursue home education for their children will be encouraged by experienced homeschooling veterans, professional teachers and community leaders. • Learn about the benefits of home education from Dr. Jay Wile, college science professor and author of the popular Apologia Science textbooks for home educating families.

• Get tips on how your home educated high schooler can take advantage of Dual Credit courses with Dr. Cassandra Lachica-Chavez, Executive Director of Admissions and Registration; Ms. Tonie Badillo, Dean of Dual Credit and Early College High School; and Mr. Carlos Gonzalez, Associate Director of Dual Credit and Early College School from El Paso Community College.

• Understand the basic academic subjects needed and suggestions on how to teach them with homeschooling veteran, Ellen Baize of The Virtuous Woman.

• Become aware of the home schooling laws in Texas from the professionals at the Texas Home School Coalition.

• Get inspired by many other speakers and workshops that will be available on Saturday from 9 a to 5 p.

• Peruse our Exhibit Hall filled with representatives from support groups, community organizations, curriculum providers and home school sports teams – all available to help parents provide the best education possible for their children.

Anyone who registers for Saturday’s workshops, is invited to come Friday evening for our worship and refresh session with Dr. Jay Wile. For the first time in several years, the home schooling support groups in the El Paso area are coming together to share their knowledge and experience with those just beginning and to encourage homeschooling families all across our great city
