In Search of the Truth, a international interactive art project that has visited such far-fung places such as Afghanistan and Ireland is quickly migrating through Mexico northward towards the Juarez and El Paso border region. The centerpiece is a portable 15 foot (5 meter) tall infatable ‘Truth Booth’ iconically shaped like a cartoon speech bubble. However the project’s heart and soul is in what happens to people inside the sculpture, as it literally becomes an incubator and generator of personal truths. Members of the general public are invited to step into the infatable, and once inside its intimate and private confnes audio-visually record themselves saying what they believe to be truth. Typically beginning a statement by saying, “Te truth is…” Not surprisingly the project has become known across countries as “the Truth Booth.”
