Beginning at Armijo Park, take a short stroll of less than a half mile along the Paseo de Los Heroes Linear Trail and discuss the rich history of the Segundo Barrio with an emphasis on the life of Olivas V. Aoy. You will also see a beautiful Rodriquez mural at the end of the walk and, of course, make a stop at the famed Bowie Bakery. There is plenty of shade but bring a hat and/or wear sunscreen. A bottle of water will probably be sufficient. Bring a mask. Hand sanitizer will be available.

This is the first in a series of Thursday “senior strolls” open to all ages but particularly to seniors and to those who may have a health condition that precludes rigorous hiking. Meet at the corner of S. Campbell and Aoy Avenue. (MAP)
