As part of NASA’s Solar Week, Roger and Linda Kennedy, of the Timmy Telescope Solar Astronomy Outreach project, will be setting up their telescopes on the patio of the Museum. “There’s more to the sun than just a yellow ball,” said Roger Kennedy, who, with his wife, Linda, runs Timmy Telescope Solar Astronomy Outreach in conjunction with the New Mexico Science Teachers Association.

“Our goal is to bring informal science to the public at no cost,” said Roger. He and Linda will have telescopes for viewing the Sun in white light and deep red and violet colors that trace magnetic activity, a spectroscope, and sun-safe glasses. Solar Week is held two times each year, once in the spring and once in the fall. For more information and educational resources related to NASA events, visit NASAWAVELENGTH.org.
