El Paso Symphony Orchestra, led by assistant conductor James Welsch, will perform patriotic and pops music at the 9th annual event 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at Fort Bliss’s Biggs Park. Performing with the symphony is the USO Show Troupe. The concert is preceded at 5:30 p.m. by a Cannon Salute to the Union. Fireworks follow performance. Lawn chairs welcome; no pets, coolers, glass containers or alcohol permitted. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Access to Biggs Park is through the Biggs gate (Airport Road); photo ID required for adults. Food and drinks, including beer, sold. Family activities offered.
