Come for a day of West Texas style fun! Enjoy LIVE music from three bands, a ranger led hike, ranch house tours, mule packing demonstration, frontier games and crafts! Bring a picnic lunch, sit beneath the pecan trees and enjoy an afternoon of music, West Texas culture and fun.

The event begins with a morning hike to celebrate National Trails Day! Guided Hike to Smith Springs 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., 2.5 miles round-trip, 400’ elevation gain, moderately difficult. Meet at the Frijole Ranch Trailhead.

Presentation and book signing by Glen Sample Ely on The Butterfield Overland Mail in Frontier Texas 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Pine Springs Visitor Center, Guadalupe Mountains National Park

Music performances at Frijole Ranch:

Cowboy Poet Doug Figgs - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Muletones - Folk musicians from Dell City, Texas - 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.

BettySoo - Gritty, Sweet Folk Musician from Austin, Texas - 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Mule Packer demonstrations, historic ranch house tours, frontier games and craft activities for kids and booths staffed by nearby public lands will be offered throughout the day!.
