FloraFEST is the annual fundraiser for the maintenance and operation of the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens and is the LARGEST sale of its kind in the region. Shoppers can purchase native and desert adapted plants. Guests can visit with local Master Gardeners and other plant experts for advice on how to care for their plants at home. Most of the plants sold at FloraFEST are not available at local nurseries or retailers.

PLANT A HUMMINGBIRD HAVEN
Marcy Scott, author of “Hummingbird Plants of the Southwest,” will present the lecture “Plant a Hummingbird Haven.” Scott will provide audiences with a glimpse into the lives of the most commonly seen hummingbirds in our area, including when they might be seen. She will discuss important nearby natural habitats and some of their signature flowers. Audiences will learn important tips on how to make a hummingbird-friendly habitat in their own backyards. Participants will get the opportunity to preview the plants to be sold at FloraFEST 2016. Light refreshments will be served. Copies of Scott’s book will be available for purchase at the lecture.
