About Sorry About Your Sister SORRY ABOUT YOUR SISTER was formed in January 2012 by front man and lead singer/bass player Shawn Hanke, who grew up playing music in Austin, Texas. After a Willie Nelson concert in 2012, Hanke ran into co-worker Felix Hernandez (guitar) and began talking about their mutual love of music, and the possibility of performing songs they had written on their own. The first jam session turned into something unexpected, with a mix of country, blues and rock influences, they created a sound that was unlike anything they had heard before.]

Shortly after the addition of drummer John Davis, SORRY ABOUT YOUR SISTER was booked for the El Paso Downtown Street Fest in 2012. All three members worked together as Firefighters and had been friends before taking the stage. After a successful succession of shows, the band decided to add Chris Oliver (trumpet) to add an extra kick to songs they had written. Due to family responsibilities and scheduling conflicts, John Davis was no longer able to perform regularly with the band and Albert Vallejo was added to SORRY ABOUT YOUR SISTER. This high-energy band is a mix of various music influences that is hard to describe, but they like to call “Tacobilly”.
