This conference will present the tools for teaching the Holocaust in today’s classroom, with a special emphasis on pedagogy, resource differentiation, visual literacy, and active learning. The focus will be on individual and collective responses to historic events and their relevance today. Personal testimonies, primary sources, and implementation strategies further enhance this in-depth workshop. Participants will hear from expert educators from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Yad Vashem. Topics will include America and Immigration, Rise of Nazism, Propaganda, Contemporary Antisemitism, and much more. The cost of the 2-day conference is $95, which covers continental breakfast, full lunch, as well as a full curriculum guide and classroom resources. Scholarships to cover costs are available. Please contact El Paso Holocaust Museum for a scholarship application. Continuing Education Credits will be provided to all teachers who complete the conference. Educators from all grade levels are invited to attend. The deadline to register for the conference is Thursday, October 27.
