The 2018 El Paso Chopin Piano Festival promises to be another event of musical excellence. For the past 24 years, El Paso has hosted some of the finest pianists in the world. This season, the festival features pianists Eric Zuber, Richard Dowling, and El Paso’s own Lucy Scarbrough in three separate concerts in September and October.
Richard Dowling is a noted New York pianist who appears regularly across America in solo recitals, with symphony orchestras, and at ragtime/jazz music festivals. Works of Chopin, Debussy, Gershwin, Gottschalk, Ravel, ragtime, and early jazz figure prominently in his repertoire. He has been hailed as “An especially impressive fine pianist.” (New York Times).
