El Paso Holocaust Museum & Study Center, in partnership with Temple Mount Sinai, The Interfaith Alliance, and the YWCA Racial Justice Program presents: CommUNITY Encounters: No Ordinary Word Inviting the community to the table for an enriching conversation in an inviting and welcoming space. participants share a meal together, while also sharing their own stories, viewpoints, and perspectives, in an effort to build bridges of understanding with one another and to get to know our community in a richer way. The theme of the evening is “No Ordinary Words” - words can unite or divide, hurt or heal, build bridges or tear them down. Stereotypes, labels, slurs, etc. affect every individual and society as a whole.
The format will be discussion based, with a table facilitator who will help guide the conversation. The table assignments will be lottery-style for each individual participant.
