Join the Alamogordo Amateur Astronomy Club and learn more about the night sky. The moon will be a waxing crescent so it will have little light to block out the stars. Please meet at Group Site Shelter 1 at Aguirre Springs Campgrounds. Take U.S. 70 for 14 miles east of the I-25/U.S. 70 interchange in Las Cruces, then turn south on the Aguirre Springs Road (1.1 miles after San Augustine Pass) for six miles. At mile 4 the road becomes a one-way loop and climbs steeply. Group Site is past campgrounds at the end of the loop past the first and second campgrounds to the right. Dress appropriately and remember the outdoor essentials – water, snacks and a flashlight to get back to your vehicle.
