6th Annual "March Against Child Abuse" - Child Abuse Awareness Event and Resource Fair
April 6, 2019
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
510 N Santa Fe St, El Paso, Texas 79901
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
On April 6, 2019, Project C.H.A.N.C.E. will be hosting El Paso’s 6th Annual March Against Child Abuse -a Child Abuse Awareness Event and Resource Fair at Cleveland Square Park.
We want you to join us in our goal to make this annual event in El Paso County - an event Project C.H.A.N.C.E. can count on as a successful resource for at risk families. By uniting all child advocates in El Paso, we hope to bring attention to this issue, erase the stigma of child abuse, public opinion, the opinion of lawmakers, and most importantly bring hope to the children of our community affected by crimes and abuse. Events such as our March Against Child Abuse event are essential to our overall awareness strategy.
In 2018, there were 91 confirmed child abuse related fatalities in Texas 4 of which were from El Paso. This is a terrible reality, but for those still suffering, we want the victims of our community to know that they are not alone. Child abuse is a cycle that needs to be stopped. A lot of times victims are too young to ask for help or are too afraid to speak up. As advocates, we must educate our community on the different types of abuse and how to report abuse when and if it is suspected so that the children of our community will no longer suffer in silence.
Collectively, our goal is to break the silence, open public dialogue about the enormity of the child abuse and neglect problem in our community. Innocent children are suffering and / or dying every day and we need to prevent it by raising awareness and providing valuable resources to at risk families.
Please say you’ll join us on April 6th. Be a voice for the voiceless. Together, we CAN make a difference.
