2nd Annual Gauss Math Competition
February 3, 2018
8:00 AM - 8:53 PM
5210 Fairbanks, El Paso, TX 79924
This competition is designed to promote a competitive academic environment with respect to mathematics. Students who will participate in this competition will test their mathematical capabilities, be better prepared for middle school, and grow exponentially as members of our community.
We have chosen the name of our competition in honor of the great mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss. As an eight year old, his teacher gave his/her students the challenge of adding the first 100 integers. Gauss was able to find the sum of the first 100 integers in a matter of seconds. Later, Gauss developed the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra along with contributions in the fields of number theory, geometry, astronomy, and electromagnetism.
