El Paso Community College’s Border Learning Conference (BLC) is a program of practical teaching demonstrations, round-table discussions, and forums that address issues of learning along the border. Professional educators and administrators involved with issues of teaching and learning along the border bring their concerns and expertise to this continuing, dynamic program now in its 18th year. This year’s theme is “Standing on the shoulders of giants: Embracing our past, celebrating our present, confident in our future.” We will be honoring Linda Rivas, Executive Director of Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center with our Crossing Borders Award. Our keynote speaker is UTEP Associate Professor and author of “Educating Across Borders: The Case of a Dual Language Program on the U.S.- Mexico border”, Dr. Maria de la Piedra. We hope to see you there!

This year we will be opening our conference to the public and offering six sessions presented by EPCC faculty and community leaders free of charge at the El Paso Public Library, Main Branch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Please visit our website for the schedule and updates.
