The Pink Store
Columbus is a quaint little town with a special place in U.S. history. It was here in 1916 that Pancho Villa staged and attack on U.S. soil that left 18 people dead. The town's history is commemorated in two small museums - one in the old train depot and the other at Pancho Villa State Park. Three miles south of Columbus is Palomas, Mexico. Palomas is a sleepy little Mexican village that's the perfect way to experience Old Mexico. The highlight is a visit to The Pink Store where you'll find high-quality handcrafted, one-of-a-kind merchandise from all over Mexico. The restaurant serves Mexican food that alone is worth the drive from El Paso. Pancho Villa State Park is 96 miles from El Paso to Palomas, and the drive can take just under two hours.
