Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center

Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center portrays the rich history of this Army post from its establishment in downtown El Paso in 1848 with a regiment of mounted infantry to its present day status as America’s Air and Missile Defense Center of Excellence. The museum also houses the Air Defense Artillery Gallery, devoted to the introduction of the airplane as an offensive weapon in World War I, and delves into the general history of this branch of the service as well as chronicles the Army’s unique history here along the U.S./Mexico border. Located in Building 1735, Marshall Road, Fort Bliss. Free admission.

Old Fort Bliss Museum is a re-creation of the Fort Bliss post as it appeared at Magoffinsville from 1854-1868. Visitors experience 1857 life at Fort Bliss through authentic period room exhibits and outdoor displays. Interpretive exhibits tell the story of this important U.S. Army post from its inception in 1849 to present day. Free admission.

Fort Bliss Replica Museum

The Old West days of the "Soldiers of the Pass" are relived through replicas of original adobe fort buildings and military artifacts. The museum is a reproduction of the Magoffinsville Post from 1854 to 1868. Admission is free.


U.S. Army Air Defense Museum

U.S. Army Air Defense Museum

Showing through 1999: "Kewpie Dolls to Y2K: The 9 Years." This is an exhibit of civilian and military life throughout the century, focusing on the ninth year of each decade: 1909, 1919, 1929, etc. The museum also includes an outdoor weapons park, with weaponry ranging from early anti-aircraft guns to the Hawk missile. Admission is free.

U.S. Army Museum of the Noncommissioned Officer

The museum features the changing role of the Noncommissioned Officer in the U.S. Army from 1775 to the present, through displays of equipment and uniforms used by staff sergeants and other NCOs. Admission is free. Entrance to Fort Bliss requires a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; closed on Saturday and Sunday and federal holidays.
