Warehouse 1402: Behind the Scenes Tour: Although you don’t hear much about them, there have been a significant number of women involved in space exploration and research. From the early days of astronomy and Theano of Thurii, a Greek mathematician and student, or perhaps wife, of Pythagoras, to Carolyn Shoemaker, co-discoverer of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9, women have played an important role in our understanding of the cosmos. For Women’s History month, join museum curator Sue Taylor and assistant curator Jim Mayberry as they explore the lives and legacies of these female pioneers. Coffee and donuts will be served.
