Walk MS: El Paso, presented by Arbys, will unite hundreds of El Paso-area residents to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and aims to raise an estimated $42,000 to stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever. The fundraising event begins at Bel Air High School and offers a one-mile route. Participants are invited to enjoy refreshments and entertainment before and after the event.

Visit walkms.org to register to walk, volunteer or donate. Event day activities will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. start time for the walk. There is no registration fee and no minimum pledge commitment; however, the average walker raises $250 to support research initiatives, programs and services of the Society. Individuals interested in joining or creating a team can sign up online with co-workers, friends, family and neighbors.

About Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.

Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide.
